Spelling 

In 2025, RGLPS will continue using ‘Spelling Mastery’ for Years 1-6. Students will participate in Spelling Mastery instruction at their year level within their own classrooms. ‘Spelling Mastery’ is a direct instruction scripted spelling program that incorporates the three approaches to teaching spelling (whole-word, phonemic, and morphemic knowledge). Each child will also have their own ‘Spelling Mastery’ workbook for their ‘Spelling Mastery’ level.

Prep classes will continue to learn strategies focused on phonics and phonemic awareness using the Little Learners Love Literacy and Heggerty programs.
