Growing Gratitude at Home
At Highton Primary School, we are continuing to explore the principles of The Resilience Project, with a focus on Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM). This month, we are shining a spotlight on gratitude.
Gratitude is about taking the time to notice and appreciate the people, experiences, and things we often take for granted. Research shows that practising gratitude can improve wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and help students develop a more positive outlook on life.
Gratitude Challenge
This week, challenge your family to share one thing you are grateful for each day. You may be surprised by the positive conversations and connections that develop.
By practising gratitude regularly, we can help our children build resilience, strengthen their wellbeing, and develop a greater appreciation for the world around them.
"When we focus on what we have, rather than what we don't have, we help train our brains to see the positive."
