Walk Safely to School Day - Friday 16th May

Well it’s that time of year again when our school seriously starts talking about walking!  Walk Safely to School Day asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. And although walking all the way to school isn’t realistic for many of us, it’s quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine.  You can teach your child the healthy habit of walking more by:

  • Walking with them the whole way to school

  • If you have to drive, park the car a few blocks away from the school and walk the rest of the way.

Regular exercise like walking with your child not only helps them (and you!) beat chronic problems like obesity, heart disease, behavioural and mental health issues and diabetes. It also gives you a great opportunity to teach your child safe ways to behave around roads and traffic.  Remember, Active Kids are Healthy Kids so get planning your own Walk Safely to School Day journey for Friday 16 MAY 2025! Prep 2025 Family Evening on Monday 19th May (6.30pm - 7.30pm)

We warmly invite our 2025 Prep parents to a Curriculum Evening on Monday 19th May.

This information session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will last approximately 50 minutes. We will conclude with light refreshments with an estimated finish time of 7:30 p.m.

The learning session will provide an opportunity to better understand the key areas of learning, teaching methods, and how we will work together to support your child's development.

During the evening we will cover:

●       An overview of the Prep curriculum

●       Strategies to support learning at home (including home reading)

●       Confidentiality and parent helpers

●       An opportunity to answer any questions you may have

This evening is an opportunity for you to learn about a day in the life of our Prep students.

We highly encourage all prep students to attend with you.  We will have a specific area for child-minding should families require non-prep children to be brought along. While parents enjoy the light refreshments, the children will also be supplied with a snack while watching a movie.

We look forward to seeing you there and working together to support your child's success in their first year of school.

Warm regards,

Rose, Fiona and Bridie
