WELLBEING & LEARNING DIVERSITY

We’re so pleased to welcome everyone back for another exciting term of learning and growth. We hope the school holidays provided a chance for your family to rest, reconnect, and enjoy some special moments together.

This term Ashlyn is returning to the role of Student Engagement Leader. Ashlyn and Bella will be sharing the role. We both look forward to working together with you to support your children this term.

We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for our school community.  We have been successful in a grant application provided by Together For Humanity (TFH). This inclusive, not-for-profit educational organisation is dedicated to combating prejudice and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion across Australian school communities. TFH works with schools through a range of student programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum, professional development for teachers, and online learning resources. For further information explore their website: https://togetherforhumanity.org.au/

Mission and Vision

Together For Humanity’s mission is to encourage interfaith and intercultural understanding among Australian school students, helping to bring communities closer together. Their vision is for an Australia where racism and prejudice are eliminated, and all young people feel a true sense of belonging.

Thanks to the generous support of TFH, we have the opportunity to make this vision a reality at St Joseph’s.

TFH Team

To make the most of this opportunity, we have formed a dedicated team of teachers and students. Together, we will brainstorm and plan initiatives that will enrich our community’s intercultural and interfaith understanding. This team will meet regularly throughout the term (we started last term), to discuss potential events, workshops, programs, and learning opportunities to implement in 2025. These activities will be coordinated by St Joseph’s staff and will benefit our students, staff, and the wider school community.

Our student team is made up of the following dedicated members: Ben S., Sansa, Miles, Pascal, Elise and Aidan K.

We look forward to bringing many exciting events and opportunities to St Joey’s and the whole community this term!

School Counselling Service

As you know, we welcomed Rishika Sangeeta to St Joseph’s this year. Rishika is an experienced counsellor who has been working with Catholic Care in the counselling role across a number of schools, both primary and secondary school settings. She has worked individually with students and has developed group program work to run groups in schools over the last few years. With her passion and enthusiasm for counselling and her ability to connect with students, we are thrilled to have Rishika at our school and to continue work with her this term.

Rishka is available to see students on Thursdays.
