The Easter season in the Catholic Church is a joyful time that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Beginning on Easter Sunday and lasting for 50 days until Pentecost, this season invites families to reflect on the hope and new life that come through Christ’s victory over sin and death. It’s a time for renewed faith, deeper prayer, and living out the message of love and forgiveness in everyday life.
We celebrated the resurrection on the first day of school, with setting our prayer space and listening to the Gospel from Easter Sunday.
ANZAC Day is a solemn occasion to remember and honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. It is also a time to reflect on the values of selflessness, peace, and compassion that align with Christ’s teachings. As we commemorate the ANZACs, we are called to pray for peace, give thanks for those who served, and teach our children the importance of remembering with gratitude and living as peacemakers in their own communities.
Prayer for Pope Francis (In Memoriam)
Eternal Father,
We thank You for the life and faithful service of Pope Francis,
whom You called to shepherd Your Church with humility, courage, and love.
As he now returns to You, grant him the reward of his labors —
the joy of eternal life in Your presence.
May his legacy of compassion, peace, and care for the poor
continue to inspire Your people across the world.
Welcome him into the company of the saints,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Amen.
A Prayer for Mothers
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of mothers,
for their love, sacrifice, and the gentle strength they show each day.
Bless all mothers with joy in their hearts, peace in their homes,
and the support they need as they care for their families.
Comfort those who have lost mothers,
those who long to be mothers,
and those who find this day difficult.
May the example of Mary, the mother of Jesus,
inspire all mothers to walk with faith, hope, and love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Thank you to Mrs Cordi and Year 1 for organising the Mother’s Day Prayer Service yesterday. We also thank Father John for leading our celebration. We wish all Mums a very relaxing and happy Mother’s Day this Sunday.
