4/5C - Our Class is a Family

In spelling, we focused on the /ch/ digraph that makes the 'sh' sound—like in chef. Our writing sessions challenged us to expand our sentences using who, what, when, where, why, and how to add detail and depth to our ideas. During reading, we explored how text features can support our understanding and help us locate key information.

In maths, we began learning about different types of angles. We can now identify and create acute, obtuse, and right angles with growing confidence. We also made time to complete and celebrate some of our fantastic work, which is now proudly displayed around the classroom.

One of the week’s highlights has been creating a special keepsake for our wonderful mums - just in time for Sunday! The students put so much love and care into their creations, and we hope they bring lots of smiles and warm hearts this Mother’s Day.

We wrapped up the week with a fantastic day at the district cross country at Wesley Hill! It was wonderful to see our students giving their best and cheering each other on throughout the event. A huge congratulations to everyone who participated - you should all be proud of your efforts! A heartfelt thank you goes to the amazing parents who volunteered their time to help on the day. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Amy for organising such a smooth and enjoyable event - your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed!

Back at school, we've been busy rehearsing for our upcoming assembly presentation, happening next Monday. We're excited to share some of the learning we've been doing in class and look forward to seeing you there!

When you're so excited to be Student of the Week, you forget which way is up! 😄📜
