Whole School Activities

Lower Division

Lower Division have enjoyed a great start to Term 2 and have settled back into our routines well. In English, we have been examining the texts "Don't let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" and "Don't Open this Book", where we have examined how dialogue is represented in texts and how we can use persuasive language to try and convince others of our point of view. We have been able to act out some funny and constructive scenarios where the class has attempted to convince their peers of their arguments (no matter how silly some of them might be!). In Mathematics we have explored what equal means, and how we can demonstrate this in a variety of ways such as hefting items, using concrete items and also but constructing number sentences.

Upper Division

Our Stage 2 and 3 students have hit the ground running this term, with new exciting English and Maths units, with a continued focus on  explicit instruction in reading and writing processes. Students are becoming more and more familiar with Learning Intentions and Success Criteria, allowing the quality of descriptive teacher to student feedback, peer feedback and self-monitoring to occur, for targeted and personalised success for all learners.

Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you to everyone who has supported our book fair so far this week.  Yesterday our students enjoyed looking at what is on offer and filling out a wish list, our older students helped the younger ones to complete their lists.  The wish list is just a guide for parents and there is absolutely no expectation for parents to purchase these items.  Our school receives reward points for any items purchased from the Book Fair which we can then use to buy resources from Scholastic for our students to use.
