High Ability Programs at OGPS 

High Ability programs are up and running at Ocean Grove Primary School. There are currently many events happening in this space, as we continue to encourage, extend and stretch our students.

Some of the programs on offer are PETAA (Primary English Teaching Association Australia) Author Writing Workshops, VHAP (Victorian High Abilities Program – Literacy and Numeracy) and G.A.T.E.WAYS (gifted and talented education) workshops. The staff at Ocean Grove Primary School have engaged in professional learning opportunities to explore and enhance extension opportunities for our students. 

Part of this learning has included how to identify high-ability students, the needs of high-ability students and how to support high-ability students. Gifted students demonstrate potential significantly above average in one or more of several key domains. These domains typically include intellectual, creative, social-emotional and physical. Ocean Grove Primary School endeavours to cater to the needs of all our students. Thank you to our families for your continued support.
