Competition Time

Below are details for a number of different competitions. If your child would like to enter, please refer to the websites for more information and how to submit their work. Please speak to Mrs Caroline Dickinson if you have any questions.

 

HARMONY DAY POSTER COMPETITION

  • Theme: Harmony – We All Have a Role to Play 
  • Entries Close: April 12 2025
  • Specifications: A3 drawing, painting or mixed media work

WHO CAN ENTER?

The Harmony Day Poster Competition is open to school students in all schools in Australia. Entries are based on the student’s school year for 2025.

PRIZES

The competition will be divided into two sections:

Junior, years K to 6

Senior, years 7 to 12

And, within each section, into groups based on year of study.

 

An entry may be made by an individual student or a group of students. In the case of multiple students’ entries the highest class of the students entering will be used for judging purposes.

 

The overall winner in each of the Junior and Senior sections will receive $250.

The group winners will each receive $150

‘Beyond Words’ creative writing competition

Theme: Open theme – any genre – short story (no poetry)

Form: Story (500 to 1500 words)

Age Category: Years 1 – 12. 

Closing date: 1st June 2025

Submit Entry – Dymocks Beyond Words (dymockstutoring.edu.au) – save your story as a PDF and get your parents to submit it online

  • Attach your work as a PDF file.
  • Your name should NOT appear anywhere on the document or in the title as the competition entries are judged anonymously.
  • The title of your attachment should be the title of your story.
  • Write in 12pt font, Arial or Times New Roman.
  • Your document must contain only text, no images.
