As we approach the halfway mark of the term, it has been wonderful to see our students settle into the school year with enthusiasm and commitment. I am honoured to lead the college this term and am grateful for our staff, students, and families' dedication to ensuring a positive and productive start to the year.
A Strong Start
The year began with all students engaging in the Empowering Learners program, designed to set them up for success. This program allowed students to build connections with their teachers, Year Level Leaders, and Student Services teams while reinforcing our college expectations. The participation and engagement of our students have been commendable, laying the foundation for a great year ahead.
A highlight of the term so far was the Year 7 Welcome Breakfast and Meet the Teacher Night. It was fantastic to connect with so many families, share insights about the year ahead, and strengthen the home-school partnership that is so vital for student success. Our Year 7 students have had a wonderful start to their secondary school journey, settling into their new routines and making new friendships. With their camp coming up soon, I encourage families to reach out to Engagement Curriculum teachers or the Year 7 Team if they have any questions.
Key Events and Reminders
We have a number of exciting events coming up:
Supporting Student Success
Attendance remains a key focus, as every day at school is an opportunity for learning and growth. If your child will be absent, please inform the relevant Year Level Team so we can provide any necessary support. Additionally, I appreciate the cooperation of families in supporting our uniform expectations and mobile phone-free policy, which contribute to a positive learning environment.
I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events and continuing to work together to support our students. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in making Cranbourne Secondary College a place where every student can thrive.
Warm regards,
