Boarding

Activities on the weekend

Our boarders on the weekends are involved in all different types of activities, from many different sporting options to getting their hands a little bit dirty with some cooking. Recently, MOD Pauline has been teaching our boarders how to make tomato sauce, chutney, and jam. Our international boarders in particular have thoroughly enjoyed the weekends cooking and I’m certainly looking forward to sampling more of these tasty treats in the weeks to come.

Laundry

Laundry is one of those inevitable tasks we all must take on at some point. For adolescents, the time between visits to the laundry can sometimes stretch a little longer than adults might consider ideal! Regardless, boarders and boarding staff tackle laundry each day.

We’re proud to see our boarders learning how to do their own washing—and why not, I say! After all, it’s not just about cleaning clothes. This seemingly mundane task goes deeper than what meets the eye. Laundry teaches preparation, organisation, respect for others, and responsibility for your belongings.

Well done, boarders, for staying on top of something many take for granted as a foundational life skill!

Boarders of the week

Nic and Gus McCure began their boarding journey this year and have flourished. Their unwavering energy is contagious in the house. Both love a good game of cricket in front of the Boardo and enjoy the running club on Wednesdays. And they think the food is pretty great too!

Nic and Gus consistently go above and beyond—whether it’s setting up for a BBQ dinner or helping a casual boarder settle in. Well done, boys, on a fantastic start! I look forward to seeing you continue to thrive.

Orah reminder

In boarding we use the pastoral care system called Orah. A reminder for our families to double check their child/rens weekend leave that it has been entered by the Wednesday. This leave needs to be approved by Thursday evening, so our catering and staffing models are all organised for the weekend.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
