Maths - Maths Olympiad

Each year, a number of students from our Year 5 and Year 6 cohort participate in the Maths Olympiad competition, with students being selected for their strong aptitude and passion for mathematics. This year, these selected students have embraced the challenge of Math Olympiad with enthusiasm, commitment, and an eagerness to apply their mathematical thinking.

The Maths Olympiad is an annual competition run by the Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) and is designed to challenge students with complex, non-routine maths problems. The problems are aimed at building perseverance, creative thinking, and logical reasoning. Students work through challenging scenarios that often require multiple steps, lateral thinking, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

The competition consists of four rounds, spaced throughout the year. Each test presents five challenging questions that encourage students to think critically and apply their skills in creative ways.

We are incredibly proud of our Olympiad students, not only for their performance but also for the strong work ethic and positive attitude they have demonstrated in their preparation and during the competitions themselves. They approach each session with determination and are understanding the importance of persisting through difficult problems.

Congratulations to all of our Olympiad participants. Your efforts and mindset are to be commended!
