The junior students have been learning about pets in Italian classes. Recently they dicussed what the word 'domestic' meant and how pets are domesticated. They looked at all types of animals and classified them into what a pet can be and what lives in the wild. They are working on learning the Italian names of these animals.
In the coming weeks, the students will learn how to say This is my pet', which pets I like or don’t like and describing pets by colour and size in Italian.
This fortnight in Sport out football program has continued with a very welcome visit from the ladies at AFLGV. Mel and Di introduced us to new games including Football-Tennis and Football-Cricket. There were goal-kicking competitions and fun games of 'snatch'. We were very grateful to have their experience and enthusiasm for the two days that they visited us, and particularly that they also very generously gave their time and stayed for a bonus session during Lunch! Thanks Mel and Di, you're welcome back any time!!!
We've been creating some amazing Pop Art inspired art works in our drawing unit of Art this term. They are bold, bright and colourful and lots of fun. All classes have begun an exciting project of creating backdrop designs where 2 from each class will be chosen as backdrops for our production at the end of the term! It's going to be hard to choose. We also have lots of art displayed all around our school at the moment, make sure you check it out if you are wandering through.
We're doing lots of dancing at the moment, rehearsing the production! It's exciting to see all the students building dance skills, matching their movements to music and using the choreography they've put together. Students in 5/6 have been rehearsing the story - it's wonderful that so many students have been learning their lines at home and have already almost memorised their parts!
