MOE’S REPORT  26/08/2025

Hello, konnichiwa. How are you? I hope you enjoyed the last two big weeks

– production, athletics, and Lilyvale. All of them were really good experiences for me.

Now, I would like to share my memories with you.

🌸Lilyvales

Lilyvale students visited all the way from Japan between August 14th and 19th. In Japanese class, 56s introduced themselves and played the janken train, which is basically a game with rock, paper and scissors. One day, students in tomodachi club had lunch with Lilyvale. They enjoyed fairybreads, meat pies, sausage rolls, and rice balls which are called onigiri in Japanese. The onigiri were made with just rice and seaweed, but everyone seemed to enjoy them. On the last day, some people hugged each other in tears, and I realized that even if we speak different languages, as long as we manage to communicate, we can become friends. Do you remember the meaning of “goen” that Lilyvale gave us? Goen has a double meaning : 5 yen and bond. I hope we can keep this bond and we will meet again someday.

 👠Production

The school production was amazing! Fortunately, I was lucky to watch it from a good spot with Megumi sensei, who interned at Kalinda as a Japanese assistant teacher last year. I really enjoyed the authentic costumes, music, and above all, the kids’ cute dancing! To all the main cast members, I was so impressed how well you remembered so many lines. You should be proud of yourselves. This production has definitely become one of my greatest memories at Kalinda. Thank you so much to all the cast and staff.

🇯🇵My boyfriend from Japan

Following my friends’ visit last week, my boyfriend Shotaro also came to see me. It was his very first trip abroad, so I was a little bit worried, but he arrived safely and really enjoyed Australia. The highlight of the trip was seeing lots of Australian animals. On the way to Phillip Island, we stopped by Moonlit Sanctuary. We took a selfie with a koala named Moe – same as me! – watched a rare awake wombat, and fed some kangaroos. At the Nobbies, we spotted a family of grey geese and many wallabies. And of course, we went to see the Penguin Parade. This time, we saw even more penguins than last time, and five of them waddled just one meter away from us! It was adorable. I’m so happy we could create unforgettable memories together. I can’t wait for our next adventure!

🤸‍♀️Amelia

I have been staying with Amelia’s family, and she has taught me lots of things. First of all, she is good at gymnastics. She taught me some basic tricks on the monkey bars and the trampoline. It was my first time doing those things since primary school, so I felt a little bit nervous, but she showed me the tricks step by step. Second, we did pretend plays. We practiced dancing from "The Wizard of Oz” of course, and also pretended to be a teacher and student. At that time, Amelia was a teacher. She never forgot to do roll, tests, and positive feedback. She was a good teacher. We also played with stuffed animals, did some colouring, and cooked together. We had a great time. There are only a few days left with Amelia’s family. Thank you so much for everything! I hope we can stay in touch.
