It has been a busy time in P.E classes over the last few weeks.
All classes have finished off their Target Game - Lawn Bowls unit and it is safe to say their accuracy has improved. Another pleasing aspect was the fact they were able to remember the rules along with the terminology used such as the jack, holding the shot and using the correct weight.
As the term comes to a close all subschools will be honing their throwing, catching and striking kills. This will be through a variety of modified games and equipment related to the sport of Cricket.
Congratulations to the following classes who have been awarded the P.E Class of the week trophy this term:
Week 3 - 4a
Week 4 - Fb
Week 5 - 5b
Week 6 - 1b
Week 7 - 3b
Week 8 - 2b

Casey Cup Netball
On Tuesday 19th August the school had three netball teams compete in the annual Casey Cup Gala Day. It proved to be a fantastic experience for all the students.
Junior Girls - finished the day undefeated with two wins and two draws. What a great effort for their first school netball event.
Senior Girls - finished the day with five wins and one loss. They missed out on the final by percentage but should be proud of the way they played.
Senior Boys - finished the rounds with five wins and one loss. They qualified for the grand final and in a nail-biter came away winners 8 - 7. An outstanding day of team play.
Thank you to our parents who assisted with coaching, scoring and cheering the students on.
This is an email the school received from the Senior Boys coach Rikki-Lee after the event:
“I just wanted to pass on how proud I was of the boys today. Every single one of the students should be so proud of themselves - not only for the skill level (also thanks to your fantastic training sessions to get them to understand the rules) that they played but how they represented the school. Pride, respect, determination and fantastic sportsmanship are the first words that come to mind. The school community and their parents should all be so proud. Thanks again for letting me be part of the day.”
Such great feedback to receive. Events like this are only possible with the support of the families and it's safe to say our students love all things sport.
Junior School Swimming
Junior school students have just completed a 5 day swimming and water safety program with Aligned Leisure at Casey RACE. This experience not only teaches the students valuable swimming skills but also vital safety skills to survive around water. It is also a great opportunity for students to gain independence by having to dry themselves and get themselves dressed.
Lightning Premier Sports
A massive well done to all out year 5 and 6 students who represented the school at Lightning Premier Sports on Wednesday 10th September.
We had a girls and boys team at each of the sports - cricket, softball, volleyball and basketball.
All teams won games on the day and most importantly demonstrated the schools values.
A big thankyou to Karolina S & Mark P for assisting on the day - we appreciate you giving up your time to make the day possible for the students.
Student Spotlight
Congratulations to Elliot F who has just been named in the School Sport Victoria softball team. This is a fantastic achievement.

He now gets to wear the Big V uniform at the National the School Sport Australia Championships to be held at Blacktown International Sports Park, Rooty Hill, NSW from 16 – 21 November 2025.

Social Wellbeing News
Junior School
Term 3 has seen the Foundation students talking about being flexible thinkers, or using our palm tree brains. We also spent some time during National Week of Action Against Bullying discussing what bullying is, and ways to stand up to someone who isn’t being kind.
The Year 1 and 2 students have been talking about our strengths, weaknesses and character traits. The importance of using our strengths to help us be successful, working on our weaknesses and how to manage our actions when frustrated by challenges. We’ve talked about what it means to be brave or kind and how to use the strategies best for our bodies.
Middle School
The Year 3 and 4 students have been discussing what it takes to be a team player. The skills required of all and that a team of champions doesn’t always win but a champion team will.
Senior School
The Year 5 and 6 students have been completing their unit on stereotypes, culture, prejudice and discrimination, through the watching of Hardball and Mustangs FC.
All students have been striving to be the best overall class in our specialist classrooms. The teachers are looking for students who follow procedures, listen to and follow instructions and work together as a team. Thanks to Mr Holden who 3D printed all the trophies!

Foundation
Using paint and a cotton tip, the foundations explored the word of printing. They were astounded by the “MAGIC” when they laid their paper onto their design and lifted it to reveal a mirrored painting on their paper!
They have also explored wire sculpture through threading diffenet objects onto a bendy wire and adding it to our collaborative artwork.
Junior School
Using inspiration from the classroom Monarch Butterfly Project, students have created a blended chalk pastel flower and realistic drawing of a Monarch butterfly to link their artistic projects with their classroom tasks. They particularly enjoyed rubbing the colours together to create blended petals and backgrounds.
Middle School
The middle school’s most favourite activity this term was drawing the Balloon Dogs! They looked at artist Jeff Koons who creates metallic balloon dogs and used tonal variations to create a 3 dimensional balloon dog drawing. They then painted bubble wrap and took prints to create their backgrounds before framing for the Fiesta.
Senior School
Year 5 and 6 students have thoroughly enjoyed learning the tape resist technique and did an outstanding job on their canvas bags, soon to be on sale at the Fiesta!
All students across the school have continued their STEM journey this term with lots of exciting things happening.

Students in the junior school have been learning about algorithms and debugging. They have been working through lessons where they have created their own algorithms for simple tasks as well as debugging their own and other students algorithms.
