Principal Post

 Dear Families,

Thank you to all our wonderful Grandparents who joined with us last Friday morning.

The 5-6N class Mass set the scene for a great morning. We honoured all Grandparents including those living far away and those who have gone before us. The morning tea and the activities were enjoyed by all.

It is a very special for our students and Grandparents alike to be able to spend time together. To all our Grandparents thank you for the wonderful support you offer your families and grandchildren.  As a school we could not operate without you!

Our thanks to all the staff who organised the celebration.  With such big numbers the celebration required generous hearts.

Prayers for Liz Jackson

We kindly ask that you keep Liz Jackson, a much-loved former staff member, in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time, as she is currently quite unwell

Foundation 100 Days at School

Congratulations to our Foundation students who celebrated their 100 days of school today!!

It was great to see them all dress in the theme of 100 - many choosing to dress as 100 years old!

The various activities and liturgy to celebrate the occasion were all very fitting!

The students have been amazing across the past semester. They have settled in incredibly well and have made excellent social and academic progress. It is so pleasing that they feel well connected to their peers, staff and our school.  What a brilliant start to their school life.

Our thanks to the parents and grandparents who show their ongoing support of these students and who have partnered so well with our school. To the Foundation teachers - we all thank you for your incredible and generous work!!

To our Foundation Students - keep up the great job - only 2500 days till schoolies!

Concert Attendance Notice

Our school concert is a special event that celebrates the hard work and talents of all our students. It is an expectation that every child participates as part of their class performance.

Students have been rehearsing their items as a team and every child’s role is vital to the success of the performance.

If your child is unable to attend because your family is away on vacation, please notify the Office or your Teacher as soon as possible and provide the reason for their absence.

TICKETS: On sale in Term 3 (date TBC) – Tickets are $25 each.

Performing students do not require a ticket.

Ticket prices have increased slightly this year due to SJV engaging the Kinect 2 Dance group, who are supporting us in our concert preparation.

The concert will be professionally recorded by a new company, StageFright. A high-quality video will be available for families to purchase, further details will be provided in the newsletter later in the term.

John Hannah House

We began our Term 3 visits to John Hannah House again yesterday!  It is a great partnership which benefit both residents and students.  Grade 3/4MK visited yesterday.  The grade 3/4's completed a Grandparent's interview with them, discovering some interesting facts about some of the residents.

Connors Run

Do you want to make a difference...

It's time to come and join up as part of the SJV team  to Support Connors Run on Sunday September 14th. Many of our community members will walk, run and enjoy a fun morning to support and raise awareness of paediatric brain cancer.

Free Public Transport for Kids

Eden Foster - State Member for Mulgrave has written to the school on the 24th July informing all families that as part of the 2025–26 Victorian State Budget, the Allan Labor Government has announced a major initiative to support families and ease the cost of living: From 1 January 2026, public transport will be free for every Victorian under the age of 18.

Students -Be on time!!

LATE.  Regular lateness disrupts the class and affects not only your child’s learning but also that of others. It is essential that families make every effort to ensure students are at school before the bell. Punctuality is not optional—it is a basic expectation.
