Parents and Citizens

Thank you to all those who attended our meeting at the beginning of this month. This was the first of our new-format, open discussion meetings, which proved to be very productive.
The focus of the meeting was easing and improving the Year 7 Transition from Primary School to High School, with a specific emphasis on extracurricular activities. These can be a great way to involve new students in the school community and help promote a sense of belonging. There was discussion about existing groups, activities not currently offered, and ideas on how best to promote these opportunities to incoming Year 7 students. This also led to a brief discussion about girls' sport within the school, particularly following the success of our first-ever Girls Rugby League Team.
In other news, we’ve had the great pleasure of donating $30,000 from the P&C to the school to purchase 30 laptops. These will be used for a pilot class in preparation for the school’s transition to BYOD in 2026. The laptops will then become part of a bank available to families who need them.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who helped out at our July Bunnings BBQ, including Mr. Kayes. It was a chilly one, but the local community still came out to support us, helping us raise $1,467.81.
Our next BBQ will be held on Sunday 14 September at Rouse Hill Bunnings. Come and support us by buying a sausage!
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 2 September at 7pm. Don’t forget to check out the P&C Facebook page to find out what our discussion topic will be.
All welcome!
