Jarret - Year 12 Student gaining real-world experience in Animal Care

Jarret, a Year 12 student, is currently studying with the Taronga Training Institute, where he is completing a Certificate II in Animal Care—a two-unit course contributing to his HSC. This accredited program offers a unique opportunity to study on-site at a working zoo, providing hands-on experience in the care and management of a wide range of animals.

The Taronga Training Institute is ideal for students passionate about animal care and offers a strong foundation for future careers in veterinary nursing, wildlife rehabilitation, animal husbandry, and other animal-related fields.

Deveh - Year 12 Student soaring in Aviation and Defence

Deveh, a Year 12 student, is currently studying a T/VET Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot). Alongside his course, he participated in a 3-day Defence Work Experience Program at RAAF Base Richmond, exploring careers in the Air Force.

 

During the program, Deveh used flight simulators, toured the C-130 Hercules and Diamond DA40 aircraft, rode in armoured vehicles, and completed an ADF fitness test. He also gained insight into roles such as pilots, medics, air traffic controllers, and technicians.

 

A highlight was building connections with current ADF personnel and ADFA graduates—an inspiring step toward a future in aviation and defence.
