Happy Holidays!

As we conclude another busy and rewarding school term, we would like to thank all our families for their ongoing support. The end of the year is always a time of excitement, celebration, and well-earned rest for students, staff, and parents alike. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate just how much our young people have grown socially, emotionally, and academically.

While the Christmas season can be joyful, it can also bring extra pressures. Routines change, social calendars fill up, and expectations (both for children and adults) can feel overwhelming. With this in mind, we encourage families to prioritise mental health and wellbeing over the holiday break.

Here are a few gentle reminders to help support a calm and enjoyable festive season:

Keep routines where you can

Children thrive on predictability, and even small routines like consistent bedtimes or quiet morning moments can help them feel secure.

Create space for downtime

The holidays don’t need to be busy every day. Make time for rest, unstructured play, and screen-free moments together.

Talk about feelings

Excitement, disappointment, and worry can all show up at this time of year. Encourage children to share how they’re feeling and reassure them that all emotions are okay.

Set realistic expectations

Not everything has to be perfect. Simple, low-stress activities are often the ones children remember most.

Look after yourself too

Parents and carers model self-care, so taking time for a walk, a cuppa, or connecting with a friend is just as important.

As we close the term, we wish all our families a safe, restful, and wonderful Summer break. Thank you all for your ongoing support throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for another great year ahead.

Take care and Merry Christmas!
