Principal's Report
27th November 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we enter the liturgical season of Advent, our school community is invited once again into a time of hopeful waiting and joyful preparation for the coming of Christ. Advent reminds us to slow down, to look for God’s presence in the ordinary moments of our days and to prepare our hearts with prayer, kindness and generosity. In the classrooms and around the school, the children are already embracing this spirit through their learning, reflection and service. May this sacred season draw us closer to God and to one another as we journey toward the celebration of Christmas.

Yr 5 Leadership Speeches
Every Year 5 student is to be commended on their confidence, courage, honesty and leadership. This was so evident in the way they each delivered their speeches yesterday for the school and parents. We were all so very proud of them as it is not easy to get up in front of so many people and deliver a speech. All of them spoke with clarity and pride and we look forward to their leadership in 2026.

Community Outreach
A big thank you to the students who came along to Christmas on Broadway last Saturday and sang their hearts out for the Junee Community. We appreciate the parents bringing them along to this community event and to the teachers that prepared the students and came along in the evening to assist the students. Although the weather wasn’t the best it didn’t stop the students from singing their hearts out!
Over the next two and a half weeks students will be involved in further community outreach activities. Year 5/6 students will be singing at the Junee Hospital and Cooinda Court next week. We are also collecting goods for the St Vincent De Paul Christmas appeal which will brighten the Christmas of those in need. The joy this compassion brings not only to those receiving but also to the students giving, is ‘Christ our way’ in action.
Reports
Teachers are finalising reports as we speak and they will go out to parents on Friday 12th December. If you wish to discuss your child’s report, please make an appointment with the class teacher to do so in Week 10. I would like to acknowledge all the hard work and effort that our teachers put into writing our student reports.
Aboriginal Cultural Day
Next Friday, 5th December, we welcome the Aboriginal students from Holy Trinity West Wagga to join us in celebrating an Aboriginal Cultural Day. At the end of Term 2 this year, our Aboriginal students were invited over to Holy Trinity for a wonderful day of culture and participation. We are honoured to return the favour and host Holy Trinity.
Year 6 Graduation
On Monday evening 8th December, our Year 6 students will celebrate their Graduation Mass at 6pm followed by dinner at the Commercial Hotel. This is a very special occasion to acknowledge these students and their education at St Joseph’s. The Kinder children will play a special part in the mass and is a way of thanking their Yr 6 buddies for their help and guidance throughout their first year of school.
Transition to New Classes
On 9th December, students will transition to their new classes for 2026 Year 1-6. The teachers for those classes will be announced prior to this. This day will give both the students and teachers an opportunity to get to know one another before the new year.
Parent Survey
Thank you to those who responded to our Parent Survey. This survey has been sent out annually since 2023 to help us improve and continue to grow as a school. We really appreciate the feedback and will continue to review all aspects of our school to ensure we are providing quality catholic education at St Joseph's Junee.
Class Parties
Each class will have their end of year class party on Tuesday 16th December. Individual class teachers will correspond with parents about what students bring in. This is a wonderful way for the class teacher and students in their class to celebrate a fantastic year together.
‘My door is always open even if it is closed.’
God Bless
