End of Year School Closure

We would like to remind all students and families that the last day of Term 4 2025 is Thursday 11 December. Please see below for important end of year dates:

• Thursday 11 December – Last day of Term 4 for all students
• Friday 12 December – All campuses closed. Friends' Early Learning and Friends Health & Fitness will remain open. Main Reception will be open until 12.30pm.
• Monday 22 December - Last day the School will be open for 2025, Main Reception and the School closing at 4.30pm.
• Main Reception will re-open from Monday 5 January 2026.

New Parent/Guardian Accounts Update

As advised last week, parents/guardians were sent an invitation email to set up a new account for access to school services Tuesday 2 December, and will need to use the new account credentials to login to SEQTA from now on. 

Around 25% of parents/guardians had activated their account in the first 24 hours and we appreciate you managing this extra step as reports and learning records are distributed in the next week. If you require assistance with this process, please contact our Service Desk team using this form.

School Fair Save the Date - Saturday 21 March 2026

We are pleased to confirm the date for the next School Fair will be Saturday 21 March 2026.

This date coincides with Harmony Day, so we will aim to incorporate this important theme into the day and with various activities. We look forward to bringing the wider community together for this enjoyable event.

Information will be shared next week about:

• Seeking Fair Organising Committee members and volunteers
• Production of produce for the Deli/Providore
• Collection of other items (e.g. books, secondhand uniform)

Uniform Shop Summer Holidays Opening Hours

The School Shop will be closed from 5pm, Thursday 11 December 2025 and will re-open Monday 12 January 2026 at 9am for general sales and appointments. Fitting appointments are highly recommended and will be prioritised. You can book your appointments here.

Normal trading hours will resume on Tuesday 3 February 2026. Open 8am to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

2027 Kindergarten Enrolment Reminder

We wish to remind current families that 2027 Kindergarten enrolment applications are now open. If you are planning to enrol a younger sibling and have not yet applied, please submit an application at your earliest convenience. Early applications help us ensure we can accommodate siblings prior to finalising our enrolment intake.

UPDATE to 2026 Instrument/Vocal Tuition Enrolment

Private instrument and vocal tuition will be available at The Friends’ School again in 2026 for students from Years 3-12. The enrolment process for this in 2026 will be via Paperly and a link will be available for parents in the Paperly app in mid January, 2026. In the meantime, you can view the 2026 Music Co-curricular schedule here.

Quaker Meetings for Worship

All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.

Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.

Thursday Morning Meeting for Worship

Members of The Friends' School community are welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time, starting at 7.40am. Just come quietly in when you can and join us until 8.20am in the Hobart Quaker Meeting House, which is located just below the Middle School Office on Boa Vista Road.

Community Yoga

Wednesdays 7.45am - 8.15am (Last class Wednesday 10 December.

Recommencing Wednesday 11 February.)

An inspiring way to start your day with energising movement, focused breathing and a moment for relaxation and stillness.  All members of the school community are welcome to attend and no prior yoga experience is necessary. 

Community Yoga is held in Hodgkin Hall and Julia will meet you outside the door on the Carr Street side of the school at 7.40am. If you would like more information contact our school Yoga teacher Julia Gibson.
