Welcome to Term 1 2025! I hope you have been able to enjoy the fabulous summer weather and that your school holidays were filled with laughter, rest, and cherished moments.

I am excited to extend a warm welcome to all our students, families, and staff. Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, we are so glad to have you as part of our school community. As our school is growing, many new families are joining our school community this year and I especially want to welcome you to our hope-filled Christian community where faith, learning, and relationships grow together. Thank you for choosing Leighland Christian School and entrusting us with your children’s education. We value your partnership and are keen to work together with you. As the first point of contact, your child’s class teacher can help you with most questions related to your child’s education. Please reach out to them via email or phone, or call the school office to make an appointment if you would like to speak with them in person.

At Leighland, we are committed to Christ-centred education that inspires, nurtures, and equips students to connect learning to life. Our vision of pioneering personalised, real-world education means that every student is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their God-given potential. This year, we look forward to new opportunities for growth, learning, and service. Our dedicated teachers and staff support our students by fostering not only academic excellence but also faith, and a heart for serving others.

As we begin this 2025 journey together, I encourage you to join us for our Term 1 school events that will be advertised via EdSmart, our school newsletter, and our Facebook page.

  • Our playgroups commenced this week on Monday at 1.30pm and Thursday at 9.00am in the Ulverstone Kinder classroom. Parents and carers are welcome to join us with their preschool aged children at one or both playgroups each week.

  • Our Ulverstone Welcome Barbeque is on Wednesday 19 February at 5.00pm and will be followed by a SIMON information session at 6.00pm. All school families are very welcome to attend.

  • Come along to our Year 7, 2026 Information Evening on 25 March to learn about the first years of Secondary School at Leighland.

  • Grandparents and special friends are welcome to join us in Primary when we celebrate Grandparents and Special Friends Day on 4 April.

In Term 1, our students will also participate in athletics and swimming carnivals, the Millard Shield, NSATIS events, day and overnight camps, Primary and Secondary fortnightly assemblies, the Dedication and EA Assembly, our Easter Service and many more exciting events.

I look forward to a wonderful year ahead and pray for God’s blessings on each of our students, families, and staff. Welcome back!
