February - WAAPA Junior Academy for secondary school students

The WAAPA Junior Academy is designed specifically for young people who have a passion for performing.

The program runs in 8-week blocks from February to December each year, in line with the school terms.

• Music Theatre Workshop - School Years 7 to 12

• The Actor's Workshop - School Years 7 to 12

Music Theatre is a dynamic combination of theatre and music, blending storytelling through singing, dancing, and acting. WAAPA’s Music Theatre program provides students with an ideal foundation to hone the vocal, acting, and movement skills required to become a versatile ‘triple threat.’ Each term, students gain practical experience by applying their abilities to a new musical production.

In WAAPA’s The Actor’s Workshop program, students will build the essential skills needed to perform confidently on both stage and screen. Through hands-on workshops, they will explore the importance of voice, movement, and acting techniques. They will also enhance their understanding of character development through improvisation, script analysis, scene work, and audition preparation.
