High Ability Programs

Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) 

Congratulations to the following grade 6 students for being selected for VHAP by the Department of Education based on their academic performance and high NAPLAN results from previous years that places them in the top 10% of Victorian students for English.

James - English

Mya - English

Johnson - Mathematics

Andy - Mathematics

Weekly online lessons with students from other schools are facilitated by tutors from Virtual School Victoria. During English classes, James and Mya are challenged to use critical thinking skills as they analyse complex texts and collaborate with others in the process. During the course ‘Power of the Pen’, they will also consider a world without writing, examine the history of writing, and have the opportunity to extend their story writing skills.  During Mathematics lessons, Johnson and Andy explore patterns, alternative numeral systems and cryptography.

We wish them every success as they delve into new learning, problem-solving and challenges.
