Safer Internet Day

Dear Parents and Carers,

Safer Internet Day is a global initiative aimed at promoting safer and more responsible use of the internet, particularly among children and young people. This year, the eSafety Commissioner in Australia is highlighting the campaign theme “Together for a better internet,” which encourages individuals to create a more positive and secure digital environment through three key themes:

  • Connect safely and with purpose
  • Reflect before we act
  • Protect with knowledge.

As educators and parents, we play a crucial role in guiding students to navigate the online world with awareness and caution.  Throughout next week, educators  will teach multiple lessons that are recommended by eSafety Victoria and the Department of Education.   We highly recommend that parents/carers access the extensive information available at https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents .

eSafety Victoria offer webinars for parents and carers, providing knowledge, skills and tools to support their children to have safe online experiences.  If you would like to attend any of the following live webinars, you may access them at https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents/webinars .

Acceptable Use Agreement

Students from Grades 3 to 6 will revisit the Acceptable Use Agreement this week which is a contract outlining clear expectations for students when using technology.  The Agreement requires a signature from students, parents/carers and teachers to ensure that we are all on the same page about safety when using technology.  The Agreement can also be located on the school's website
