2024 School Council

Dear Parents,
The February and final meeting of the 2024 school council is fast approaching. March of each school year is where the new school council commences, and for that we are seeking parents interested in being a part of council to come forward.
If your child is enrolled at Mackellar Primary School, then you most certainly have what it takes to contribute to council. In the coming days, information will be sent out seeking nominations. We would love to see some existing faces remain, and some new ones join. Please use this link to read about what school council does, in the hope that we have a range of people keen to help out. When the nominations forms are sent, you can nominate yourself, or another parent at school.
In other news, you many notice the inside of the main building is looking quite fresh for the start of the year. Our painters came through over the holidays to give the place a freshen up. Likewise, the bunting on the oval has been removed allowing students to play in the area where the new trees and yarning circle are, which is already proving popular.
These council projects continue our improvement agenda to ensure our school looks and feels as good as it can for all of our students.
In the coming weeks, 8 ramps around the school from the car park, main entrance, The Hive and a range of classrooms will be updated with construction taking 2-3 weeks. This will cause some minor disruption and noise. Whilst not a glamorous project, it will ensure all of our entrances and exits are accessible and meet Australian standards.
Take care,
Vince Scarfo
School Council President
