The trip to the city was a fantastic opportunity to shop for much-needed gifts and experience the culture of Melbourne and explore some of the city's iconic sights. Allowing boarders some freedom to browse around Bourke Street and Melbourne Central is an excellent way to foster independence and responsibility among our teenagers.
Understandably, the motivation for shopping wore off for some, and the temptation of food became more appealing—particularly for the boys. Sushi trains, Mexican food, Bubble Tea, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and Hot Pot were among the group’s favourites. Nobody returned home empty-handed—or hungry!
For one of our last House competitions this year, we had a Christmas themed BBQ dinner. With so many boarders dressed up from Mac House, it was no surprise they did take out the prize for the best dressed and for the most boarders in-House dressed up. A special mention goes to our new boarders (Ruby and Kate) who invested significant time and effort into their presentation. A not so special mention may need to go to Hugo Dabernig as he makes for a very scary Christmas Santa indeed!
On behalf of all staff who worked tirelessly throughout the year, we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe and successful new year.
