What a special final week we have just experienced! I congratulate everyone on a positive finish to the 2024 school year.
The Old Fashioned Sports Carnival was a huge success. Students skipped, hopped, ran and laughed their way through the morning with Laidlaw, the eventual champion. The Berry domination continued with another victory in the House Jelly Eating, and I can’t remember the last time they were defeated in this event. Students from both campuses then enjoyed lunch together and a very moving final assembly as we farewelled staff and students.
Our staff concluded their year with a full day of first aid, planning and preparation for the 2025 school year, and staff farewells. The final day is always one of mixed emotions, as we look forward to welcoming new staff but must also say goodbye to colleagues and friends.
I wish all of our College parents, students and friends a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas and holiday.
To our departing families and students, thank you for all you have contributed. Whatever you strive for or do, give it your very best. I wish you every happiness.
To our returning staff, students and families, we look forward to strengthening our relationship with you and embarking on the journey of the 2025 school year together. There are many exciting times ahead!
I want to conclude my final newsletter article of the year with a prayer I read to the Year 12s at their Valedictory Dinner.
Do It Anyway
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centred. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create Anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
