From the Art Room 

Welcome to 2025! We have a very exciting year ahead of us in the Art Room! 

Mrs. De Stefanis has shown me around the space and I'm looking forward to continuing a few Art Room traditions like; Grade 6 Bears, Year 5 Soft Toys for our Buddies, Year 6 D.P.S Legacy Gift, production props and much, much more. 

This term we will start off by making a whole school display inspired by Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami. We will then go into looking at Portraits. 

• Foundation will experiment with different materials and create several different self-portraits.
• 1/2 will draw abstract portraits using oil pastels 
• 3/4 will use watercolour and fine liner to share a little bit about themselves through a profile self-portrait
• and 5/6 will complete closeup, realistic animal portraits. 

We will be displaying our work in the corridors and common spaces throughout Donvale Primary School, so please come check it out :)
