Chaplaincy News

The Chaplaincy Committee welcome all new and returning families to Horsham College for 2025.  We are a support group for our Chaplain, Yolande Grosser, who works with students across all year levels and college campuses.

Meeting in the administration building on the first Thursday of each month for about an hour, we get an update from Assistant Principal, Louise Amor, on school matters, plan the biannual fundraising Chaplaincy Book Fairs and discuss how the chaplain has come alongside students to make life a little easier.

Our committee helps fund the Brekky Hub, and whole school awareness campaigns such as Harmony Week Fiesta, RUOK? Day and World Kindness Day, as well as supporting students of all faiths with the Faith Fans lunchtime group, and helping teens with pre-loved uniforms and feeding programs.  The committee is pleased to provide $500 to students in the form of attendance and achievement awards at the end of each year.

The Chaplaincy Committee provide 60% of the chaplain’s salary, with the wonderful provision of Horsham College for the remaining financial commitment.

We’d love to welcome any new members to the group, promising cake at each gathering!  If you are keen to dip your toe in the water, our next meeting is planned for 5pm on Thursday, March 6th.  Please contact our chaplain at the college on (03) 5381 7175 if you would like more information.
