Z Club News Birthing Kit Packing Day
Students, friends and family members of O’Connor Catholic College are invited to a birthing kit packing day organised by the Zonta Club of Armidale on Saturday, 25 July from 2.00-5.00 pm at the Baptist Church, corner of Rusden and Jessie Streets.
Please email Mrs Channon at vchannon@arm.catholic.edu.au if you would like to attend. You can stay for an hour, or for the whole time if you wish.
This will be a great opportunity to meet many members of our supporting club, and they would love to meet you!!!

Who we are
The Birthing Kit Foundation (Australia) is a humanitarian organisation that provides birthing kits and education in clean birthing practices to women birthing at home in remote regions of the developing world.
Items supplied by the Birthing Kit Foundation of Australia constitute an eco-friendly birthing kit costing $5.00. The kits are packed by volunteers and distributed to women internationally who do not have a clean place to give birth.

What we do
We work in partnership with communities across Australia and around the world to pack and supply Clean Birth Kitsto pregnant women living in rural communities and low-resource settings. To date, more than 3 million Clean Birth Kits have been distributed to women in need.
Kits are packed by volunteers in Australia and internationally, assembled by trusted partners in-country, or supplied during emergency responses. They are then given to mothers through community outreach programs, supplied to health facilities for use by doctors, midwives and nurses, or distributed to trained birth attendants.

Eisteddfod
A very big congratulations to our Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 Music classes on their outstanding performances at this year's Eisteddfod.
Our Year 9 class ensemble achieved an outstanding second place overall. Our Year 11 class also excelled, receiving equal first place in the Year 11/12 section. Finally, our Year 12 students secured third place.
An amazing effort by all! Congratulations on your wonderful achievements.
A big congratulations also goes to Eleanor Flannery and Allie Clark, who received first place in the Speech and Drama Duos/Quads, 20th/21st Century (Years 7–9) section.
Laura and Richard also represented O'Connor at the Eisteddfod in the Music Composition competition, both composing lovely pieces for string quartets. Laura walked away with first place and Richard attained second in their class. Well done to both of you!
North West Equestrian Expo
Congratulations to the OCC Equestrian Team on their fantastic results at the North West Equestrian Expo!
Amber received Champion Stockman Challenge and Champion Sporting Competitor in the 15 Years division.
Sophia received second place in the Working Horse Challenge, second and fourth place in Team Penning, and fourth place in the Time Trials.
Pippi received third place in the Stockman Challenge.
Charlotte placed second and fourth in Team Penning.
Tori received first, third and fifth placings across multiple events throughout the day.
Cleo placed seventh overall, as well as receiving second, third and fifth placings across multiple events.
We commend each student on their outstanding achievements, dedication and effort. Congratulations to all involved!
