Specialist Snapshot

Our Junior artists have been learning about indigenous art and culture over the last few weeks, creating some beautiful and meaningful pieces.
The Preps have been exploring the vibrant artwork of contemporary Anmatyerre artist Louise Numina, focusing on her famous Bush Medicine Leaves paintings. Alongside their art making, the students have been learning all about traditional indigenous bush medicine remedies and how nature provides healing.
The Grade Ones and Twos have been looking at local Dreaming stories, focusing on Bunjil the Eagle, the creator spirit. Each student has beautifully decorated gum leaves, which have been brought together to form the feathers of a collaborative Bunjil the Eagle artwork.
We are so proud of the creativity and cultural respect our youngest artists are showing in the art room!
