Junior School Principal Report
Nicholas Mammoliti
As we approach the end of another vibrant term, I am delighted to share some highlights and updates from our Junior School. It has been an eventful period for our Year 7 to Year 9 students, filled with achievements, challenges, and moments of celebration.
We recently celebrated the success of our RAISE Mentoring Program, which pairs our students with mentors to foster personal growth development. The celebration event was a wonderful showcase of the progress and dedication of both our students and their mentors. It was heartening to see the strong bonds that have formed and the positive impacts that have emerged from this initiative. Congratulations to all involved for their commitment and hard work! A special shout out to Maddie T and Bailey M for speaking on behalf of our students.
I had the pleasure of taking the Year 7 boys basketball teams to Melba for their round robin last week. Their teamwork, sportsmanship, and sheer determination have been commendable. Unfortunately, results didn’t go our way with a 3-point loss to Mooroolbark and a draw with Ringwood. The B and C teams had positive results throughout the day, and it was great to see so many parents out there supporting.
While the outcome of the Junior Girls Football State Grand Final was not in our favour, I want to extend a heartfelt congratulations to our girls for their incredible effort and sportsmanship throughout the season. Reaching the state grand final is a significant achievement. We are proud of their accomplishments and the way they represented our school with such pride. A big shoutout to coaches Mick Wilson and Hailey Noonan who have been pivotal in their success.
Our Year 8 students recently returned from their camp to Summit, which was an enriching experience for all involved. The camp provided a fantastic opportunity for personal growth, teamwork, and exploration. The students engaged in various activities that challenged their limits and fostered a greater sense of camaraderie. It was an absolute pleasure to see the resilience of our students on the Monster Course; mud, cuts and bruises were everywhere but still plenty of smiles and appreciation of the challenge they had overcome.
As we wrap up this term, I want to extend my best wishes to all our students, parents, and staff for a well-deserved holiday break. May you all have a relaxing and enjoyable time with your loved ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone back with renewed energy and enthusiasm for the next term.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
