Principal's Report

St. Paul challenges his believers, in the Second Reading this week, to demonstrate their faith through good deeds. He asserts that a living faith will foster a yearning to do acts of kindness and care for others. At Holy Rosary, we see these acts of kindness and compassion through our students every day. We are actively working to encourage our students to live the values of the gospel and approach every interaction, every decision, every moment with the lens of ‘What would Jesus want us to do?’ and provide them with many opportunities, like ‘R U Ok day?’ and our fundraising footy colors day, to demonstrate this understanding.

ORIMA School Engagement Surveys –

More responses please! Your feedback is really valuable to us as we continue to strive to improve what we do. We thank those families who have taken the time to respond to this survey, however it would be terrific if we could get more over the weekend. The surveys officially close next Monday, September 16th. Just contact the office if you have lost your details to log in.

Arts on Show

Our Grade 5 students participated in the Arts on Show performance at St. Francis of the Fields this week. It is wonderful to note that all feedback from the day was that our students were exceptional in their behaviour and stand outs for their performance. We thank Mrs Teed, Mr Geary and Miss Smith for their support in preparing the students for the day.

RU Ok day?

Students were given the opportunity to spend time at lunch on Thursday participating in some activities related to this day. It was wonderful to see students of all ages interacting with each other and checking in on their peers. Some students even created and delivered cards to staff across the school checking in and brightening their day.

Footy Colors Day

Our school was a sea of color and footy fever today as students wore their favourite footy teams colors or came adorned with crazy socks and even crazier hair. All this fun was in support of Catholic Mission - the Pope’s international mission agency in Australia supporting grassroots projects across health, education and spiritual care. We thank everyone for their generous donations as we continue to teach our students the importance of caring for all those in our world, especially those in need.

Grade 5 Camp

Next week we see the Grade 5 students head off to Echuca for a night together. Camp is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop deeper relationships with their peers and challenge themselves outside of their comfort zone. We wish them all the best and know they will have a fantastic time riding horses, bouldering, trying their hand at archery and so much more.

Canteen Volunteers

Unfortunately, we have had many weeks this term where we have not had enough volunteers in the Canteen for the food service to run on time, without adding additional stress to our current helpers and Lindy, our dedicated Canteen Coordinator.

As of Term 4, if we are unable to secure the required volunteers by the Friday prior to the Canteen day, we will unfortunately have to cancel that coming week of food service.  If you are able to spare a few hours on a Friday morning and can volunteer, even if it's only 1 Friday a term, refer to our Canteen roster on the P&F News page in the Newsletter and contact Lindy Vance on 0409 067 404, to go on the Roster.

End of Term 3

School concludes at 2:15 pm on Friday 20th September, with Term 4 commencing on Monday 7th October at 9am.

Have a wonderful week,

Shelley DeAraugo and Mandy Antoniadis
