From the Principal

Welcome to another edition of our newsletter!

It has been an action packed fortnight of additional fun activities for both our students and their families.

We started with Book Week - just as our previous newsletter dropped. What a fun day! The parade was well attended by our wonderful community - packing into the gym (we were concerned about the weather impacting the celebration) and the creative and varied costumes were fantastic to see. We hope to have the photos up on the office TV early next week. Thank you goes to Suzi Warton and Hayley Sheridan for organising the day as well as the author visits we had across the school for Book Week.

We also had the launch of the Fathering Project here at OGPS on the 29th of August. This group aims to create a platform for Dads and father figures to actively engage with their children. Thank you to Andrew Moore for organising this event and for helping to facilitate the upcoming events. If you would like any additional information please do not hesitate to reach out to Andrew.

Thank you also goes to the Foundation Team for the annual Father's Day brekky. There were many Foundation students here at 8 am to join in the fun. Also a huge thank you to the parents who organised and ran the Father's Day and Special Person's stall last Friday. We hope that all OGPS Dads/special people had a wonderful day last Sunday and enjoyed their personally selected gifts and cards.

On Monday we all came in our pyjamas to school! Our fundraiser for the RSPCA could not have been held on a better day, with the windy weather keeping us indoors and recess and lunch, making it a perfect pyjama day!

Our Year 5 team have also started the process of electing our 2025 student leaders. Thank you to the parents who attended the information session last night. We have made some changes for 2025 and created a policy that is available now on our website.

I would also like to congratulate the students who attended the Nunawading District Athletics Carnival. For the first time in many years, we won both the best overall school and best aggregate school. We are in the process of having these engraved before they will be on display in the office. What a wonderful effort!

Finally, don't forget that the parent survey is still open (see Compass Notifications) and tickets for Rock Bottom (our whole school production) are no longer capped at 4 per family and there are still some available!
