Men’s Night @ The Cloey

What a spirit filled evening at The Clovelly Hotel for our inaugural Botany Randwick Men’s Night. Three very insightful Guest Speakers in Fr Pat, Jonathan Derkenne and Ben Higgs. Not forgetting our extra special guest Bishop Terry Brady. With special thanks to Jonathan who agreed to be one of our Guest Speakers sharing his wisdom and insights and the St Margaret Mary’s Dad’s who braved the rain and difficulty parking to attend what I am sure they will agree, was a fantastic night.

Cana Farm visit - Monday 21st October 2024 (Staff Development Day)

Struggling to find what to do with the children on the next StMM Staff Development Day? Why not visit Cana Farm? Cana Farm is located in Orchard Hills and is a social enterprise that creates employment opportunities for members of the community with mental health issues, disabilities and those who have been incarcerated or impacted by addiction. This opportunity is open to parents and students to come and work alongside the Cana community on the farm harvesting vegetables in the garden or packing the vegetables in the packing shed. We will then eat lunch together and there will be an opportunity to purchase organic produce from the farm or items in the farm shop like candles and spreads before returning to Sydney.

Digital Dangers and our Kids - FREE Talk Tuesday 29th October 2024

The subject, "Digital Dangers & our kids" is a topical one and a much needed conversation for families. With the Federal Government's announcement of plans last week, to use age verification and assurance technology to block children from social media and other digital platforms, the time is right to engage in this dialogue.  This  talk is by well known author, speaker and advocate Melinda Tankard Reist. Scan the QR code on the flyer to register for this FREE event at Souths Juniors on Tuesday 29th October, 2024.

T4 Rosary SPaRs

During Term 4 and the month of October, I will be hosting a series of in class Parent and Student SPaR’s about The Rosary - What is it and how do we pray it? It will be kept simply for the younger students and I will share more detail with the older students. Parents will be able to also work with their child to create a sacramental craft relating to the Rosary.

Calling all Year 5 parents

In preparation for our Kindergarten 2025 Orientation in term 4, I am seeking a team of volunteer Year 5 Parents/Carers to assist in making some sacramental keyrings. The keyrings will be gifted by the current Year 5 students (who will be Year 6 buddies in 2025), to their Kindergarten 2025 buddy, on Day 2 of Kindergarten Orientation in November. Even if you have never made keyrings before and would like to help, you are very welcome to join.  If you would like to participate, please email me directly via lucille.gravina@syd.catholic.edu.au to register for this initiative which will occur in Term 4 Weeks 2 and 3.
