Year 10 Canapé Lunch

Food Studies

Year 10 Students Serve up a Refined Canapé Lunch for Distinguished Guests!

On Tuesday 6th May, the Year 10 Food Studies students participated in an exciting canapé lunch competition. With the support of their fantastic teachers Fiona, Lejla, Brooke and Lisa, the students created a wide variety of delicious, restaurant-quality canapés that impressed everyone involved.

The menu featured an incredible range of dishes, including cheesecake bites, crème brûlée, cacao crumble cream cups, honey garlic sliders, bruschetta, samosas, smoked salmon blini, and meatballs served in a secret barbecue sauce.

A lucky group of teachers had the difficult job of tasting the canapés and voting for their favourite dishes across two competition sessions held throughout the day. After much deliberation, the results were announced.

In Fiona's class first place was awarded to Yudistra Naiker and Elijah Peterson for their delicious Fondant Potatoes, second place went to Valishka Chinapalli, Georgia-Eloise Thompson and Veer Chand for their crowd-pleasing Oreo Balls, and third place was awarded to Ayaan Ishaque for his tasty Galab Juman.

In Lejla’s class Rei Goh and Hammad Omar took out first place with their Sweet Potato Churros, while second place was shared by Jye Nevin and Zavier Owen for La Bruschetta, and Tia Ong and Senuri Ratnayaka for their Cocoa Crumble Cups. Third place was awarded to Barbod Mahmoud and James Leafa for their impressive Crème Brûlée.

Congratulations to all students involved for their creativity, teamwork and excellent presentation skills throughout the day. We look forward to seeing what next semester's students create!
