Year 10, Year 11 & Year 12
Every day matters
We are halfway through the term year 10’s!
We continue to be proud of our students who continue to demonstrate Homestead’s values of Purpose, Curiosity, Innovation and Resilience each day. It’s beyond fantastic to see students arriving to class on time and wearing the correct uniform with pride, contributing to a positive learning environment.
To support our students in preparing for the upcoming exam period, students take part in an exam walk through session on Thursday 11 June. This session helps them become familiar with Homestead’s processes and expectations around exams, ensuring they feel confident and prepared.
Exams are something new to a lot of students and can be quite daunting. If you feel you need any assistance in preparing for your exams, please reach out to your teachers or a member of the engagement/wellbeing team. We are all here to help you navigate the best version of success when it comes to schooling.
Once again team thank you for a great start to Term 2 and we look forward to watching you grow throughout the year!

Year 11 students have made a very positive start to the term, and it has been great to see the high standards being demonstrated across the year level. A big congratulations to students for consistently wearing the correct school uniform and representing the college with pride.
It has also been great to see students arriving to class on time and ready to learn. Being organised and prepared for lessons is an important part of achieving success in Year 11, particularly as coursework and expectations continue to increase throughout the year.
Our recent Careers Expo was another excellent example of the maturity and respect shown by our Year 11 students. Students represented the school extremely well and demonstrated behaviours that align with the Homesteads values.

As we move towards the upcoming exam period, now is the time for students to begin implementing effective study routines. Starting revision early, staying organised, and asking questions in class can make a significant difference. Students are encouraged to seek support from their classroom teachers to ensure success in their exams.
VCE Access students
A key milestone coming up is the General Achievement Test (GAT), scheduled for 16 June. To support their preparation, we’ll be holding a VCE Access GAT preparation session on 27 May. Students must attend!

As we near the halfway point of the year, it’s incredible to reflect on how quickly 2026 is flying by! Year 12 students have been working hard and making the most of every opportunity, from their academic studies to unforgettable experiences outside the classroom.
Year 12 Camp – Kangaroobie Adventures!
Earlier this term, our Year 12 cohort enjoyed an unforgettable camp at Kangaroobie Adventures, filled with challenge, teamwork, and plenty of memorable moments. Throughout the trip, students participated in a range of activities including canoeing, the obstacle course, farm activities, and the exciting “Life or Death” game. The first day saw students complete two activities before finishing with a night walk, while the second day included the remaining activities followed by a scenic beach hike across the sand dunes. The evening concluded with a lively trivia night that brought plenty of energy and friendly competition, and the camp wrapped up with a pathways session before students boarded the bus home. We have included just a small selection of photos here, so be sure to check out our Instagram posts for even more highlights from the trip!

Academic Focus – Unit 3 and the GAT
While camp provided a refreshing break, students have quickly returned to their studies, with many doing an outstanding job in their Unit 3 subjects. Keep up the great work YEAR 12'S - it’s all part of the journey toward your goals!
A key milestone coming up is the General Achievement Test (GAT), scheduled for 16 June. This is a crucial part of completing your VCE, so we encourage all students to take it seriously. To support their preparation, we will be holding a GAT preparation session on 27 May. Students must attend!
