Principal's Report
Michael Ramsey
Welcome back to all our families for Term 2. The term has started very well, and our students are engaged in their learning programs, as well as a range of events and activities at school.
Term 2 is also an important time for assessment. These assessments support teachers to prepare student reports and provide valuable information to guide the next steps in each student’s learning. Please be mindful of this, if your family is planning an extended absence this term.
Last week, the School Council held its Annual General Meeting. At this meeting, councillors were appointed to the roles listed below. Congratulations to those appointed, and thank you for your ongoing support of the school.

At the AGM, the 2025 Annual Report was also tabled which is attached below.
We ask that families notify the school of any holidays or planned absences that will occur during the school term. This can be done via Compass.
We understand that from time to time families may choose to take extended periods of leave for a variety of reasons, including family holidays.
As in 2025, Principal approval will be required for any long-term absences (two weeks or longer). As part of this process, teachers will provide families with a Student Absence Learning Plan, which outlines suggested activities and learning, students can complete while they are away from school.
Please be mindful though, extended absences in term, may impact the teacher's ability to effectively assess you child, as many assessment occur over this term.
If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to contact me or your child’s classroom teacher. Thank you for your support with this process.
Please find below the dates for our Term 2 school assemblies. Assemblies will continue to be held every second Friday at 2pm, either on the oval or in the gym, depending on the weather. They are led by our student leadership team and include regular items such as Excellence Awards, Values Awards, and Specialist Class Awards.

As always, parents are more than welcome to attend.
This term, students in Year 4-6 will be asked to complete the Attitudes to School Survey. The AtoSS is a student survey offered by the Department of Education every year to help schools and the department understand students' experiences of school. We will ask your child about their thoughts and feelings about their school, their learning, relationships with other students, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general. This year, the survey will be conducted at your school from 25th May to 12th June.
Your child will be invited to complete the survey online during class time using a purpose built secure online survey tool. We are not “testing” your child.
| If you do not want your child to do the survey, please opt out by emailing me at michael.ramsey@education.vic.gov.au before the survey starts on 25th May 2026 |
For more information about this survey, including the questions your child will be asked to answer, please visit the department’s survey information page.
If you would like more information or have any concerns about the survey, please contact myself on the email above.
Please note that we have two curriculum days scheduled this term. Students are not required to attend school on these days.
Friday 19th June
The OSHC program will be operating on both days. Please contact them directly if you require care.
