Stage 5 Food Tech

Stage 5 are starting their Term 2 Food Tech journey looking at how to time manage the preparation, cooking and delivery of two course meals.
This week they tackled marinated pork belly with fried rice and a dessert of lemon curd tarts.
The biggest challenges were timing and how to not use every bowl in the room. Both groups nailed the art of making lemon curd on the stove top and then using the pie maker to cook the shortcrust pastry and filling.
A discovery of the difference between sweet and salty soy sauce also occurred with there being an even split in preference.
We would have been lost without the amazing support of Maggie who is always in the right spot helping to make the magic happen.
