It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate Harmony Day, a special occasion that highlights the importance of diversity, inclusion, and respect for all.
Throughout the day, students participated in a range of engaging activities designed to deepen their understanding of different cultures and perspectives. Classrooms were filled with vibrant discussions, creative projects, and collaborative tasks that encouraged students to appreciate the richness that diversity brings to our community.
Students explored cultural traditions, shared stories from their own backgrounds, and worked together on art and writing activities that reflected the theme of belonging. It was particularly pleasing to see the enthusiasm and respect shown by all students as they learned from one another.

A highlight of the day was seeing so many students dressed in orange or traditional attire, proudly representing the message that “everyone belongs.” These visual displays of unity and pride truly captured the spirit of Harmony Day.

I would like to sincerely thank our families for your understanding and support today while many of our teachers participated in industrial action. Your flexibility and cooperation enabled us to continue providing a safe and positive environment for all students at school.
I would also like to acknowledge our staff, who made thoughtful and professional decisions in exercising their right to take part in this process. We respect their commitment to advocating for the future of education and the wellbeing of schools.
Importantly, I commend our students for the way they conducted themselves throughout the day. Their positive behaviour, adaptability, and cooperation ensured that the school continued to run smoothly despite the changes to routine.
The day also provided a valuable real-world learning opportunity. Our students were able to see how individuals can respectfully stand up for what they believe in, demonstrating the principles of democracy in action. These are important lessons that extend beyond the classroom and help shape informed, respectful citizens.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of our school community.
Term 1 concludes tomorrow at 2.30pm.
