Project Rockit Case Study visit
Our VSC Digital Ambassadors have been consistently working at promoting safe online spaces for over five years now with many students and staff involved. On a recent visit to the college, Project Rockit Digital Innovation Manager Daniel Donahoo was extremely impressed with the work, commitment, and dedication of our DA team. This resulted in a case study of the college and DA’s work over the years and an invite to meet and present our “Vermont Values Online” workshop to the entire Project Rockit Team, including CEO Lucy Thomas. Four of our students attended, Andre L, Evan R, Vyomi P and Chloe S and confidently delivered the workshop. Project Rockit staff were highly impressed with our students and the way they had integrated the college values into an activity that promoted safe online use and incorporating our values daily. The PR staff then played a cyber safety game developed by another of our DA’s Troung P. The PR team were amazed that a Year 8 student had created such an engaging game. Our students were then invited to morning tea and to participate in some games developed by the PR teams. To the great surprise of our DA’s at the end of the visit they were presented with an Oculus Quest 2 headset for which they were all very grateful.
eSafety week Vermont Values Online Pledges
During eSafety Week our team of Digital Ambassadors visited each Year 7 class to discuss online safet, how we can apply our Vermont Values online and asked students to make a pledge on how they can keep themselves safer in an increasingly digital world. Our Year 7’s came up with some fabulous ideas and pledges, the pledge posters can be seen in the Year 7 Corridor.
