Science and STEM Update

Students have been busy working on some exciting activities in Science and STEM during the final weeks of Term One. Below are some snapshots capturing our students hard at work!

Year 5/6: Exploring the relative size of the planets and their distance from the sun.
Preps: Using a 'sound booth' to record the audio for their stop motion animation.
Year 3/4: Using Lego Technic to develop engineering skills
Year 1/2: Creating a stop motion animation showing the phases of the moon.
Year 5/6: Challenged to create a working model of a collapsible table.

2024 Science Talent Search  

The 2024 Science Talent Search is now open for registration! Don't forget to register your child's interest! 

 

Students in Years 2-6 are warmly invited to enter with entry costs covered by the school. OHR students have been involved in this competition for many years and many of our students have achieved great success with their entries being awarded a Bursary, a Certificate of Distinction or a Certificate of Merit.  

 

 This year the theme is Species Survival: More than just sustainability
