"The ‘Opera on the Bay” project - initiated by the Rotary Club of Sorrento in conjunction with the Portsea Camp - is a charity event.
The objective of the project is to raise funds for a musical enrichment program of primary school age children of the Peninsula.
The Rotary Club is now in conversation with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, to develop partnership with their ‘School concerts’ initiative, that offers a concert series for 8 to 12 years old children in Melbourne.
Our plan is to subscribe and facilitate (bus, logistics, etc) ~100 primary school children (grade 3 to 6) from 7 schools on Peninsula.
In order to make this ‘dream’ come true, we do need to raise funds.
The avenue to make this happen is our ‘Opera on the Bay’ evening, scheduled for the 6th April 2024 and featuring the MELBA Opera Trust.
Please support our project and enjoy a night of light-hearted melodies, surrounded by the beauty of the Bay and enjoying some good wine and delicious charcuterie platters.
