'How to' Compass Guide - Compass Kiosk
All visitors to the school must sign in through Kiosk before heading to the classrooms or into the school grounds.
Functions available on Kiosk:
- VISITOR SIGN IN AND SIGN OUT:
The Kiosk enables visitors to the school to easily sign in and out of the school. This is particularly useful in terms of emergency management, as it provides the school an up-to-date list of who is on the school grounds at any given time. Don't forget to put on a 'Visitor' sticker!
- STUDENT LATE ARRIVAL:
Do not sign your child in late on your Compass app - it must be done through the Kiosk to get a late pass.
- If arriving after 9:00am students must be signed in on the Compass Kiosk. Any child signing in without a parent will be given a late pass by the school office. They will be signed in as 'School Unapproved' and it is the parent's responsibility to go into the Compass App and approve the late arrival.
- If your child is not in the classroom when the teacher marks the roll, they appear as 'absent' on the roll. If your child is late and does not come to the office for a late pass before going to the classroom, they will remain on the roll as 'absent'. Signing in at the Kiosk will automatically change the student from 'absent' to 'late'.
- Any student still appearing as 'absent' on the roll at 10:00am will have an SMS sent to their parent asking where the student is.
- STUDENT EARLY DEPARTURE:
Do not sign your child out on your Compass app - it must be done through the Kiosk to get an early departure pass.
- If you are collecting your child early from school, they must be signed out on the Compass Kiosk and receive an early departure pass. The teacher will not release a child from the classroom without this pass being given to them.
- Once you have signed out on the Compass Kiosk, the class roll is automatically updated to reflect the departure, and the time departed.
- Please note that during lunch and afternoon break it can be very difficult to find students in the yard, and collect bags from locked classrooms. If you know you are collecting during these times, please email your teacher to arrange for their bag to be left at the office at the start of the break time.
- If you are collecting a student for a School sporting event (such as Zone or State sports events) or school activity, please notify office staff who will print an early departure pass for you using the correct attendance code.
