From the Classroom

Community Connectors

You will have recently seen a call out for people to fill the Community Connector role for your child’s year level. Many thanks to those who put their hand up. We now have a wonderful team of facilitators helping out!

The next step is for the Community Connector’s to begin communicating with parents and carers. As such, we are asking parents/carers (Compass contact #1) to advise if you would NOT like your email address to be provided to the Connector for your year level. If you wish to ‘opt out’, please contact your child’s classroom teacher by next Wednesday 27th March, 3:30pm.

Many thanks,

Clare McCandlish – Community Connections Co-ordinator

World Maths Day - Monday 25th March

It's that time of year again! Time for all Karoo students to get involved in all the fun of Mathematics in celebration of World Maths Day @ Karoo. This is the fourth year we have run this event, and one which many students have expressed looking forward to participating in.

At Karoo, we provide Mathematics learning through many ‘hands on’ and engaging activities to support the development of students' confidence and competence in this area of the curriculum. World Maths Day encourages students to reason, problem solve and demonstrate numeracy understanding through a variety of fun activities, whilst making connections across the school.

The event will take place between lunch and afternoon break on Monday 25th March. All students will be in mixed groups across year levels and move between four FUN classroom activities/investigations. These activities are open ended, short and sharp, to allow students to utilise their mathematical knowledge and skills.

Bring on World Maths Day!
