Drama Night

On Tuesday the 28th of May the VCE year 11 and 12 Drama class had their ensemble evening, showcasing student’s works being created over term 1 and 2.

The stimulus material for Year 12 drama this year was to “Speak up, even if your voice shakes”. It was designed to be an exploration of bullying cultures. These performances explored the rise and fall, or the fall and rise of both victims and perpetrators of bullying.

The stimulus material for Year 11 drama this year involved the subject matter of social media. Being concerned with personal cultural and/or community experiences and stories, we had to make use of eclectic performance styles and include content that explores both the positive and negative aspects of social media, as well as its history and potential future.

We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to our Drama students in Year 12 for their final ensemble ever: Summer, Meg, Emily, Brooke, Sophie, Cass, Eve, Anna, Violet, Paris, Sammi and Carla

And our budding young actors in Year 11: Izzy, Lucy, Clara, Macy, Bee, Eli, Imogen, Sunday, Eloise, Minti, Nora, Tilly, Virginia and Ruby.

And a huge thank you to Ms Mumme’s Year 10 event management students Pip, Anna and Casey for the enormous work they have put into to help us present our performance evening.

FINALLY the biggest of thank yous to our wonderful Ms Mumme!! We couldn’t do it without your help and you truly are an amazing drama teacher. You always go above and beyond for us- we cannot thank you enough.

Vocal Showcase Semester 1

Our Semester 1 Vocal Showcase was held on Friday the 31st of May and was such a wonderful celebration the incredible talent within the MGC community. We were treated to performances from VCE Music Performance students, cast members from our school’s production of The Sound of Music, Acapella members, Choir members, as well as Year 7 and Year 8 respective group pieces. It was such a lovely evening - a big thank you to Belinda, Ellyce, and Susan, our voice teachers, and Ms. Corry, Ms. Mumme and her Year 10 Event Management students for making the event run so smoothly.

Year 12 Music Performance Night

On the 11th of June the Year 12 Music performance night was held in the school’s auditorium to celebrate the year 12’s progress towards their VCE programs for their end of year performance examination. Each student performed two of their songs from their program to their friends and families. The 2024 music class consisted of vocalists, saxophone, violin/viola, piano and bass. The evening ran very smoothly, and it was amazing to see such a variety of work and talent from year 12 students. Big thank you to Ms Corry, Ellyce, Les and Kat for their hard work in organising and helping the students throughout the semester and for organising the night. Let's wish the Year 12’s good luck for their end of year program examination.
