Principal's Report

Principal's Report

Despite the rain and cold, a solid group of dedicated parents (and grandparents) facilitated our first Bunnings barbeque for the year over the long weekend in Springvale. Sales were steady, and a moderate amount of profits were made from this fundraising and community event.

Many thanks to the following parents/carers who attended on the day and supported our school fundraising efforts:

Amanda Lewis – parent of Harley (12N)

Bronwyn Clarke – parent of Patrick (34E) & Stephen (56A)

Kim & Joshua Gallaher – parents of Oscar (12N) and Emily (2SM)

Aaron Green – parent of Harper (34C) and Hudson (34R)

Kelly Lewis – parent of Lexi (34C) and Isabella (56A)

Ann Dunford – grandparent of Harley (12N), Lexi (34C) and Isabella (56A)

Kathryn Padfield – parent of Rebecca (01W), Andrew (34E) and Luke (56A)

Jason Clarke – parent of Patrick (34E) & Stephen (56A)

We cannot undertake these events without the support of our parent community and the commitment of these few families over the long weekend was very much appreciated.

Victorian State School Spectacular 2024

We are so proud of the group of 25 students who are involved in rehearsals and planning for our inclusion in the State School Spectacular Mass Choir this year. This group of students have agreed to commit to weeks of rehearsals leading up to the event, as well as attending offsite practices with the many other schools involved in the event.

It is a huge opportunity and commitment for these students and I know they will make the best of this opportunity to perform to parents and schools from across the state later in the year.

Tickets are on sale soon (watch for up[coming messages), for those interested in attending: https://premier.ticketek.com.au/

Early Collection of Students

A reminder that the school day ends at 3.30pm. Early collection of students just before the end of the day (eg. 3.25pm) can be disruptive to the office operations and to classrooms interrupted by announcements at this time.

Parent/Carers are asked to plan to avoid these disruptions as far as possible.

DISCO THIS FRIDAY 14th June

Students in all year levels have the opportunity to take part in our school Disco on 14th June. The Parents Association has gathered some great ‘glow’ sticks and other glowing items for purchase on the night. Food and drink are also available for purchase. See the flyer or Compass for details & tickets.

Working Bee 23rd June

Haven’t helped at a community event yet this year? Here is a great opportunity- Bring your gloves, hedge trimmer, broom- or come and use ours at school! We are planning a massive clean up of the area to the North of the school where our beautiful native garden, frog bog and quiet spaces have become a little overgrown!

Everyone is welcome, and there is a free BBQ at the end of the morning! A flyer was sent home recently with details, and is also attached below.

REMINDER: Parent Teacher Meetings and 3 Way Conferences- June 2024

Parents/Carers can STILL book a meeting/conference session for students on Compass.

Year F-6 students have conferences of 10 minutes each on Monday 17th June.

Please go to Compass to book your times: https://albanyrise-ps-vic.compass.education/

We are eager to talk to all our parents about the progress students are making in all areas of learning. If these times do not suit, please message your child's teacher to arrange another time.

Student mid-year reports WERE MADE AVAILABLE for parents to read on Compass from Tuesday 11th June.
