Principal's Reports

Parent Teacher Conversations:

Parent Teacher Conversations are a great way to meet with your child's teacher and check in with their progress. Please take the time to read your child's report, which will be made available via compass next week. Any questions or concerns you have after reading your child's report can be discussed at parent teacher conversations. Parent Teacher Conversations will be held on Monday the 29th and Tuesday 30th July, 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Bookings will be made via compass. If you are unable to find a suitable time, please contact your child's teacher to negotiate an alternative time.

NUDE FOOD

Bunyip Primary School encourages children to bring 'nude food' to school. This means that food is packed in reusable containers and reusable packets. If you are unable to do this, students are asked to take their rubbish home. Our senior students, in particular, can be reluctant to take their rubbish back home, so if you are able to pack snacks and lunches in reusable containers then this would be a great help. The benefit of packing 'nude food' is that there is less rubbish dropped around the school, providing a cleaner environment for the students to play in. Another benefit is the money we save on rubbish disposal. The school currently spends more than $5000 a year on rubbish removal. Not spending this money on rubbish removal means the money can be spent on resources such as ipads, netbooks, readers and sports equipment.

Woorabinda Camp:

Well one to our Grade 3/4 co-hort who from all accounts have had an excellent camp. I heard there were lots of sleepy children this morning - and maybe some adults. A huge thank you to Miss Maxine, Miss Stark, Miss Lewis, Leanne and Caitlin for giving up their own comfy beds and families to ensure our students got to have a wonderful camp.

Teacher Planning Days:

Next Monday and Tuesday, our teachers will be meeting in teams to plan out the curriculum for Term 3. On Monday, Learning Community 1 teachers (Grades Prep to 2) will be involved in this planning, meaning that the students will have all of their specialist programs on Monday. (Arts, Science, PE and Respectful Relationships). On Tuesday, Learning Community 2 teachers (Grades 3 to 6) will be involved in this planning, meaning that students in Grades 3 to 6 will have all of their specialist classes on Tuesday. If your child finds these changes challenging, please have a conversation with them to prepare them for the change in their days.

Miss Maree:

A huge welcome back to Miss Maree. We have all missed you whilst you have been on leave and are excited to have you back in the Art Room.
