Principal's Report
Term 2, 2024
As we conclude the first semester, I am pleased to report on the tremendous success we have achieved as a school community. The dedication and focus of our students on their learning have been truly commendable. Well done to all our students and staff on this wonderful achievement, and thank you to the parents for your unwavering support in maximising student outcomes.
The efforts of our Years 10, 11, and 12 students have been particularly noteworthy. Their exams were exceptionally well-organised, and we should be proud of the hard work and dedication displayed by all our students. Those studying a Unit 3 & 4 subject recently completed the General Achievement Test (GAT), an essential part of the VCE assessment procedures. As students receive their exam results, they will have the opportunity to reflect on their performance, reassess, and refocus their academic goals for the remainder of the year. Engaging in discussions with teachers about areas for improvement is a crucial part of the learning process.
In addition to our academic achievements, I would like to highlight the success of our school musical, “The Addams Family.” This production showcased the incredible talent and creativity of our students and staff, and it was a fantastic community event that brought us all together.
Congratulations are also in order for all our sporting teams. The State School Cycling event, held here at the college on Sunday, June 23, was a great success. Our students also excelled in the State Aerobics Competition and Cross Country in addition to the many interschool sporting events. These achievements reflect the dedication and hard work of our students, coaches, and staff.
Thank you to the Performing Arts faculties for their various performances and contributions throughout the term. The commitment and passion demonstrated by both students and staff have enriched our school community and provided wonderful opportunities for creative expression. Similarly, I would like to congratulate our languages learning area on the reintroduction of the food and culture evenings in year 8. I had the honour of attending these occasions and was delighted at the level of engagement and commitment on display.
As we move forward into semester two, I encourage all students to put their best efforts forward. This is a fresh start and an excellent opportunity for everyone to continue striving for academic excellence, participate in extracurricular activities, and support one another in our collective journey. Together, we can achieve great things.
Thank you once again for your continued support and commitment to our school community.
